The latest Call of Duty: Vanguard update addresses a number of issues with Sledgehammer Games' World War II shooter while also modifying a number of gameplay aspects.
Sledgehammer posted a list of the changes on Twitter (as noted by Gamespot), with the most notable change being spawning adjustments on a handful of multiplayer maps.
While Sledgehammer's tweet is sparse, screenshots of the in-game patch notes (courtesy of CharlieINTEL) show that this prevents players from spawning too close to enemies on the "Desert Siege" map and fixes a spawn trap on the "Numa Numa" map when playing Domination, Team Deathmatch, and Kill Confirmed. In addition, the patch solves the issue of players starting into a buy round without secondary weapons.
Aside from spawning difficulties, the most recent patch also fixes a field of view issue. A issue could previously lock the FOV, preventing players from customising their field of view. The "Secrets of the Pacific - Get 3 Wins" challenge will no longer wrongly register losses as wins, and the point blank range for sniper tasks has been raised.
The patch addresses a number of bugs that have been plaguing the community since the game's release last week. Sledgehammer has also built a Trello page highlighting known difficulties and problems that the team is working on, which is an interesting move for transparency.
In other news, Battlefield 2042, a Call of Duty competitor, has announced that it would debut without built-in voice chat, forcing players to use external voice chat software like Discord to speak during multiplayer. However, publisher EA has stated that voice chat will be implemented "as soon as possible."
