Children who grow up with each other have the unusual ability to both loves and hate each other intensely. If you have siblings or if you are a parent of multiple children, you know this firsthand. Brothers and sisters can be best friends and worst enemies at the same time, all in the span of one day.

For this reason, as the mother of four children born within the span of a year, I'm thrilled to share with you some really innovative and enjoyable ideas for spreading the love and commemorating National Brothers Day, which comes on May 24.

Pranks

Playing pranks on a sibling is the best way to show how much you care about them. Whether you're a kid or an adult, doing something harmless but silly is always fun for you and, hopefully, the person you're pranking. It's as simple as swapping the salt and sugar shakers and taping a note like "You are So Sweet," "Love You Bro," or something similar to the sugar shaker that is now salt-filled.

There is a good chance that changing things up will make them happy. Make sure that whatever you do isn't going to injure anyone before you do it.

Create A Handmade Greeting Card

Again, this is a good one that can be done by people of all ages. Make a card to tell your brother how much you care by drawing on a piece of paper with colored pencils or crayons. You don't have to be an accomplished artist or writer to create a card that conveys your heartfelt sentiments to the recipient.

Offer A Bedside Breakfast

If your brothers live with you, this is a great way to show them how much you care: serve them a lavish breakfast in bed. If you're still under a stay-at-home order, this would be a great way to show your parents how much you care by spending some time with another adult sibling.

Sibling Portrait

Look through your old photos if you and your brother are separated by distance and try to find a photo of a special moment that was either memorable or funny. Make a witty meme out of it using your favorite smartphone app and send it to them.

Phone Call

The most quaint and meaningful idea if you live a long distance apart is to simply call each other. Get in touch with your sibling and congratulate them on National Brothers Day!
