While the mother lioness was hunting in Tanzania, the predator took advantage of the situation.

While its mother went hunting, a lion cub was abandoned in the bush and became the hunted.

According to the video released by Latest Sightings, a leopard took the infant lion and carried it alive up a tree in Tanzania's Ruaha National Park.

"At first, I was stunned by what I witnessed," cameraman Scott Hyman told the wildlife website, "but I quickly accepted it as part of nature." "While my heart fell for the cub, I was ecstatic and overjoyed to have observed such a rare occurrence, a once-in-a-lifetime animal viewing."

The leaked video have been manipulated to remove horrific scenes of the leopard eating the cub.

According to Feeding Nature.com, leopards will occasionally kill and devour lion babies if they are left alone. Leopards, on the other hand, attempt to stay away from lions in general because they are the kings.

Leopard babies aren't eaten by lions "most of the time," according to Wild Explained, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't kill them. According to the website, lions are responsible for more than 70% of leopard cub deaths in some locations, and they feed on the young cats to show dominance and thin the ranks of rivals.
