It may come as a surprise to learn that many of the world's 60 billion farm animals are not treated humanely. Can hope still be found for them? On October 4th, celebrate World Animal Day by advocating on behalf of the mute.

We have an obligation to help safeguard the survival of future generations of all animals because we are their neighbours, roommates, and friends. Our descendants will be fortunate to have their friendship. The purpose of celebrating animals on this planet is the driving force behind the creation of World Animal Day. There is no one or thing associated with this special day! The whole world can claim it as their own. It's a chance to learn about and discuss the many problems facing animals around the globe.

The fourth of October is a time for celebration and remembrance for all animal lovers. Appreciate and celebrate the many ways in which animals enrich our lives. They aid us in maintaining a healthy equilibrium, serve as constant companions, and are useful in every aspect of our lives.

• Give to animal-focused charities.

• Do some volunteer work at a local animal shelter.

• Get some schooling. Find out more about animal welfare and what you can do to aid them.

• If you have a pet, be sure to shower it with extra affection. Spend some extra time with your pet, make them their favourite meal, buy them a new toy, or just give them a fun afternoon.

• If you care about animals' welfare, you won't buy anything that causes them harm. Learn the processes involved in the production of the food you eat and the clothing you wear.
